An Oasis for Your Skin: Droplette + a Desert Beauty Look

Meet the *Droplette.

Greetings from the desert! For the few days, I’ve been on location in Arizona and this week marks a full month that I have been diligently testing a new skincare device that I am excited to finally review for you guys.

*Droplette and its proprietary technology has transformed my current routine, ensuring maximum skincare absorption to the deepest layers of your skin.

An Oasis for Your Skin: Droplette + a Desert Beauty Look

// DROPLETTE //

If you’re at all like me, chances are that you’ve wondered if the skincare that you are applying is actually making it where it needs to go, rather than just sitting on the surface, waiting to be washed away.

While there are many beauty devices that work to tone, contour, lift and firm the skin, *Droplette is the first of its kind to ensure that the skincare you apply will penetrate to the deepest levels of the epidermis for maximum efficacy, less waste and more results.

At first glance, this handheld tool may simply seem like a misting device, however, Droplette and its mist technology, in tandem with its dermatologist-developed, water-based skincare capsules (more on those in a moment), work to convert active ingredients into tiny molecules (<500 Daltons in size) that can actually be absorbed into the skin.

Over my time of testing Droplette, I learned that many traditional creams and mists have molecules that are too large for immediate skin absorption, leaving the process of diffusion–when the molecules slowly and gradually enter the dermis, often with the help of potentially irritating penetration enhancers–as the only option.

In contrast, Droplette uses a steel mesh called a piezo, which, when it vibrates via an electrical charge, turns fluid into a mist. The specialized pump in the device then sucks in and expels the mist at an accelerated high velocity that further reduces the size of the droplets. It creates an aerosol that bypasses the skin barrier and allows for maximum absorption without irritation.

Currently, there are three different Droplette skincare formulas to address a variety of common skin concerns:

(1) 10% Collagen works to hydrate firm, plump and soothe. Ingredients include Collagen, Peptide Complex, Tripeptide-1, Vitamin C, Argireline and Rose Oil

(2) 8.0% Glycolic features an AHA-BHA-PHA blend. It helps to clear skin, heal scars, even skin tone and increase a dewy glow. Ingredients include Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Gluconolactone, Niacinamide and Tripeptide-1.

(3) 0.15% Retinol smooths, reduces wrinkles, revitalizes the complexion and renews skin via increased cell turnover. Ingredients include Retinol, Arbutin and Rose Oil.

All three serums are free of penetration enhancers. All are designed to be used alone or together (in separate application sessions).

Using the *Droplette is remarkably effortless. After the device is charged it will last 1-2 weeks with a full charge. Then, you can simply pop a capsule into the port and power on. Sync the device with the Droplette app and begin misting onto clean skin. Hold the Droplette a half an inch away from the surface of the skin and moving it in tiny circles. The entire process takes less than a minute. It takes 15 second for each cheek area and another 15 seconds for the forehead. It is equal parts easy and relaxing. I even focus application on my neck, décolleté and tops of my hands. With a streamlined approach and sustainability in mind, the empty capsules can even be recycled with the Droplette recycling program!

Since I’ve been using the Collagen capsules in my *Droplette, I have noticed a profound difference in the hydration levels of my skin. With each daily session (typically in the mornings), my complexion looks supple, healthy and radiant. Also, it seems to be firmer and more resilient, even in intense weather and during long days. I can’t wait to continue to calibrate results with the Collagen. Also, I loo forward to integrate it with other skincare formulations into my routine.

Each morning, I eagerly look forward to my 1-minute a day with *Droplette (there is truly nothing like it on the market) and love the tangible results I’ve charted thus far. Also I’m excited to be able offer my Beauty Professor readers 20% off their first purchase with the code BEAUTYPROF20 at checkout.

// SKIN + HAIR // Four formulas that masterfully perform.

For limbs that are as taut and smooth as possible, I am deeply enjoying the currently sold out *Orlane Chronosvelt Daily Slimming Cream. The instantly absorbed lotion contains caffeine and horse chestnut to encourage lymphatic drainage while forming a firming shield around slack and bumpy skin. It’s a dream on legs, upper arms and the bum. Next, the only conditioner I’ve used on this trip is the *Sisley-Paris Creme 230 (reviewed HERE). One pump detangles and adds shine and noticeable hydration to my thick hair, even in this hot and arid desert environment.

To prime my skin for makeup, the *Le Metier de Beaute Longevity Serum (use BP30 for 30% off) is marvelous. Rich with Resveratrol, vitamin E and chamomile, this lightweight serum fills in pores and fine lines and calms inflammation while expertly preparing the canvas for foundation.  The only deodorant I’ve used for the past 6 months is the Agent Nateur No. 5 Holi Stick (use AGENTRACHEL for 15% off site-wide). Compellingly clean ingredients work in harmony to keep odor at bay without harmful toxins. If you haven’t found natural deodorant that works for you yet, I implore you to give this one a try…I’ve been extremely pleased with the results, even through long teaching days and workouts.

Base + face.

// BASE + FACE // Sunscreen with foundation results and foundation with SPF…both are a must in the desert.

My base this week has been a tight edit of the magnificent Colorescience Flex SPF 50 in Medium and Tan (reviewed HERE) in the daytime hours (100% mineral SPF 50 protection and medium coverage that looks like healthy, glowing skin) and the Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Cream Foundation O50 (reviewed HERE) at night for an ultra polished and flawless look. To adeptly conceal darkness in the under eye region, the new Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate Concealer in Golden (swatches of ALL 20 shades HERE) is a stunning gem. A little goes a long way and somehow, the full coverage formula resists creasing for hours on end. I wholly recommend it!

Bronzer and more.

// BRONZER + MORE // Bronzy and burnished for a glowing and sculpted look.

To warm up the face, I am loving the *Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Palette  (applied with my *Surratt Artistique Cheek Brush, naturally) as it creates a complete look in second. The palette contains two sculpting bronze shades, a champagne highlighter and a luminous rosy blush for a glowing look. I also have been using a lot of the *Chantecaille bronzer in Sirena, which is a true brown tan that never degrades to orange and the *Daniel Sandler Watercolor Blush in Angel, which has a water-light texture that instantly melts into skin for a neutral pink flush that is tender and luminous. For a final infusion of glow, the *Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick in Nectar cannot be beat! The sheer cream-meets-gel looks insane on the high points of the face, imparting a healthy and dewy–rather than shimmery–incandescence.

The *Natasha Denona Retro Palette

// EYES // A warm rose energy is in focus via the glorious new palette from one of my favorite beauty brands.

I’ve been reaching for the Natasha Denona Retro Palette nonstop as of late. It’s rife with rosy neutrals in both matte and shimmer finishes. It has buttery texture we’ve come to expect from the venerable Natasha Denona is on full display in this key fall launch. The shades, which range from pale mauve to rich burgundy, boast intense color payoff. It has little to no fallout along with crease-free wear time that I can easily apply with my fingertips

Because the palette is so complete in its effect, I only need two more products to finish my eye look: my holy grail Tom Ford Fiber Brow Gel in Chestnut (reviewed HERE) for volume and feathery hold and two coats of the luxurious LAWLESS One and Done Mascara (reviewed HERE), which creates a false lash effect that truly lasts.

PARFUMS de Marly Oriana
The *Parfums de Marly Oriana

// PARFUMS de Marly Oriana //

The only fragrance that I brought with me on my trip is the new *Parfums de Marly Oriana, and every time I wear it, someone inquires about it!

It’s housed in an utterly breathtaking hot pink bottle. The juice features gourmand and elegant notes of bergamot, tangerine, black currant, raspberry, marshmallow, ambrette, Chantilly cream and musk.

Alluring and feminine, Oriana has a bold energy that is balanced by a sweet and  sensual dry down that has incredible sillage and significant lasting power.

It is, in my opinion, the scent of the season.

Lips.

// LIPS // From a cellophane flush to a long lasting liner, here are some lip picks for the early fall.

For lips, I’ve been lightening things up with the new *Au Naturale Eternal Lip Sheers. Clean and buildable, the sheer formula offers a wash of semi-shiny color that enhances the tone of one’s lips. The peachy pink Frose (worn in the images at the end of this post) is a neutral dream while the reddish Icy Pop and mauve Slushie present deeper lip options that still look entirely fresh and natural.

Forever in my handbag, the LAWLESS Baby Lipstick is a creamy wonder that pairs so well with a deeper liner…the pale pink tone is very 1960s and brightens–rather than washing out–the complexion.

The Le Metier de Beaute Precision Micro Lip Liner

Finally, the *Le Metier de Beaute Precision Micro Lip Liner (Use BP30 for 30% off) have been on heavy rotation as of late. This retractable pencil has an ultra thin tip for precise application. Also, it has the range features five wearable shades that effortlessly pair with all the lip color in one’s wardrobe. It’s creamy, hydrating and long lasting. My favorites are the rosy brown Nudite (worn in this post) and pinky beige Rouge.

Style notes.

// STYLE NOTES // It may be fall, but it’s still crop top and cutoff weather on the West Coast.

  • Orange Top: I purchased this tee in 2 colors and plan to pick up the black one next. The funnel neck is so classic and the crop which is double lined in the front. It works so well with high waisted shorts. I sized up to a large as it runs a touch on the small side.
  • Denim Shorts: Absolutely timeless, these shorts feature a higher waist and loose legs for the most relaxed vibe imaginable.
  • Fendi Sandals: There’s nothing like a neutral designer piece to elevate a basic outfit and these sandals take care of business in this department. Although mine are from a few seasons ago and are consequently sold out, I linked to a similar pair that is available and highly rated.
