**This post, which I shot and began writing before he passed on 3/15/21, is dedicated to our beloved pup and family member, Jethro. He lived for 16 beautiful years and touched so many hearts. He will forever be missed as he enjoys a pain-free life in Heaven. His tribute can be seen HERE. Thank you, sincerely, for sharing in our life with him here on Beauty Professor.
With spring less than four days away, today I am sharing a round of lightweight, versatile formulas that do the heavy lifting of the most stalwart of products.
From a featherweight foundation powder and multitasking face cream to body care, base, brow and lip color options that will constitute a veritable wardrobe for the warmer months, I hope your curiosity is piqued and sated by this deep dive into the latest launches in luxury beauty.
Kindly scroll on for more details, swatches and images of everything in action as well as the Bottom Line…
The SUQQU Glow Powder, Fresh Skin and Body Care and Current Base, Brow and Lip Favorites
SUQQU’s most recent launches focus on a subject that the brand continually handles with adept strength: complexion.
Its bases consistently rank amongst my favorite and the newest additions to the lineup are equally remarkable. The *SUQQU Smooth Cover Primer features a smooth and nourishing texture that makes skin look like glossy porcelain (the claims are true!), filling in pores and imperfections so that foundation of any type effortlessly glides over for a flawless finish.
Next, the *SUQQU Glow Powder Foundation (shown in 030 and 040) is an innovative formulation that adds an ethereal glow to skin while providing magnificent buildable coverage that simply looks like really good skin. Not the slightest bit dry or dusty. This lightweight dream feels like velvet on the skin. And, due to its gossamer veil texture, it plays well with all skin types. My best match (worn as foundation in the images at the end of this post) is 030. But I will likely bump to 040 by mid-summer.
For sun protection, the *SUQQU Multi Skin Perfector SPF 50 is a dream.
Weightless and inordinately fluid, it yields a cloak of skin-improving moisture balanced by a very respectable SPF 50. If traditional sunscreens feel heavy and non-breathable to you, this stellar SUQQU version will be a breath of fresh air.
Completing this round of SUQQU newness, allow me to give you a quick preview of the *SUQQU Pore Cleansing Serum (shown above). Launching April 21st, 2021, this gorgeous serum is designed to gently yet effectively reduce the visibility of pores for clearer, brighter and bouncier skin with every application. Although I am still in the early stages of testing, my initial results have been magnificent…I can’t wait to continue to watch my pores shrink!
Ever since learning about this revolutionary new formula last month in a meeting hosted by Terry herself, I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the *BY TERRY Hyaluronic Global Face Cream.
Featuring a high concentration of, you guessed it, hyaluronic acid (8 different versions, to be exact), it blithely penetrates the deeper layers of one’s skin for a youthful, balanced and hydrated radiance in a single product. Fortified with power players niacinamide and phytosqualene, this fragrance-free cream bathes skin in moisture while feeling incredibly weightlesss. I also notice that it tones down any redness or irritation my skin may be experiencing while providing a lovely base for the makeup to come. Priced at under $80, it is the luxury skincare splurge you need in your life.
As I find myself wearing more shorts (did I ever actually stop?) and tee shirts, my limbs are a newfound focus. For body care, I’m loving the *Boscia Peptide Youth Restore Firming Beauty Serum. Which features a light serum texture packed with skin loving ingredients for a post-shower hydration session that instantly absorbs.
For the best arms of your life, I wholly recommend the *U Beauty The Sculpt Arm Compound. Which through immense innovation, firms slack skin instantly. I cannot get over the immediate results each and every time I apply it. And deeply appreciate the dose of moisture it provides in the process. Get this…you will be stunned.
The *Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream lifts my mood with every application.
It’s brimming with creamy watermelon fragrance that truly delivers a wealth of hydration. Lush and dense yet easily absorbed. I love putting it on before bed for sweet and silky limbs.
For a quick self-tanning option without an ounce of fuss, the *Vari Beauty Medium Off the Beach Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion truly takes care of business. The lotion has a concentration of self-tanner. So one can moisturize and tan in a single step. The golden brown shade that develops a few hours after application (No gloves necessary. Apply it as you would a normal moisturizer and then wash your hands.) is burnished perfection. Consider it the self-tanner for those who have no time (or energy!) to self tan.
I am thrilled to report that my Beauty Professor x Au Naturale Collection (reviewed HERE), which has sold out three times since it’s launch in November, is now back in stock.
This ultra clean trio of warm pink hues feels so apropos as the sunshine continues to get stronger. And our routines become even more minimalist in the warmth. The Slipper liner (a perfect rosy mauve nude to match every lip color imaginable) glides on smoothly and lasts all day. My ME Lip Creme feels like a serum-inspired treatment. While yielding buildable color payoff in a universally flattering true baby pink. And the MINE multi-stick is a rose gold bronzy wonder. That can be worn on eyes, cheeks and lips for endless possibilities.
I am also over the moon to announce that I am currently working with au Naturale on a new product addition for spring in a formula that I am completely enthralled by…stay tuned for more soon. I can’t wait to share it when it’s ready!
For those seeking full coverage cream color in tones that compliment every complexion, consider the mini lip wardrobe that is my Beauty Professor x Christian Audette Lipstick in Elle, Golightly and Johannah (reviewed HERE).
Originally launched two and a half years ago (time flies), this trio has since become of a part of the permanent Christian Audette collection and was recently released in opulent new white packaging that looks equal parts times and modern. The weighty tube and magnetic cap meet with a satisfying click and the three shades–cool medium pink Elle, coral peach Golightly and peachy nude pink Johannah–belong on your lips. It’s as simple as that!
Some other base products on rotation as the temperature has begun to warm up include the incredible Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint in Medium Plus, which starts off thin and watery but somehow creates gorgeous light coverage with a glow after a moments of blending with one’s fingers, the convenient *JOAH Crystal Glow Tinted Luminizer (swatched in Sun Beige, which acts as a skin perfecting primer, light foundation or highlighter depending on the shade chosen and the SPF-infused *Decorté Sheer Brilliance (swatched in Tan which provides light to medium coverage and strong SPF in a formula that feels like nothing but does not budge.
For cheeks, I’ve been reaching for the cool baby pink *LAWLESS Make Me Blush in Sakura (reviewed HERE) which gives a gorgeous doll-like pop of color.
The incandescent *Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick in Nectar, which provides ultra-natural peachy luminosity to the high points of the face and, one of my favorite bronzers of life, the *Sisley-Paris Phyto-Touche Sun Glow Bronzing Gel Powder (reviewed HERE), which looks like a powder but behaves like a gel, melding with the skin in mere moments and offering a true brown bronze that never pulls orange. All three of these products are worn in the images at the end of this post.
Like many, I am a fan of full and feathery brows that look natural yet stay in place.
In addition to the original clear formula, the *Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pomade now comes in three tinted shades (I’m wearing Deep Brown in the images at the end of this post) for instantly groomed brows with magnificent staying power. I’m also using a lot of the *Decorté Brow Styling Cream 002 as the Natural Gray shade offers the perfect tone for my deep ashy brows, the REFY Brow Sculpt, which is clear and holds the brows in place like nothing I’ve tried before (believe the hype on this one) and my holy grail, Tom Ford Fiber Brow Gel in Chestnut, of which I’ve gone through at least 5 tubes. The combination of color, volume and hold is unprecedented.
When I need to get my eyes ready in a pinch, I often reach for the ultra clean *LAWLESS The Baby One Palette (reviewed HERE) and apply the shimmering taupe rose gold Babylove (you can see how well loved it is above) all over with my ring finger. I then blend a bit of the shimmery ivory up to my brow bone for a seamless look that lasts all day. When I’m feeling fancy and/or inspired, I blend of the darker matte shades (all six are super buttery) into my crease for extra dimension.
Another all over wash of color that feels light as air is the Roen Summer Disco (reviewed HERE).
I use my finger to blend this golden bronze shade all over my lid. And appreciate the long lasting warm glimmer it provides. Even though there is a bit of glitter in the formula, I, personally experience zero fallout. As the shadow has a cream texture that really stays put.
To add a dash of drama, the Le Metier de Beauté Liquid Eyeliner is still one of the best liquid liners on the market (explore the entire line for that matter…you will be enchanted!) due to its smooth application and jet black formula. I love finishing my lashes with a coat or two of the voluming and lengthening Hourglass Unlocked Mascara (reviewed HERE), which is tubing for zero smudges or transfer while being inordinately easy to remove.
**I used every single one of these products in the images at the end of this post.
When it comes to lip products, I am a plumper and pencil devotee. As both work together to transform one’s pout in seconds.
Some of the formulas I’ve had on constant rotation include the Zelens Lip Enhancer in Naturelle, a rich and balmy texture that imparts a lightly pinky coral hue that immediately enlivens the face, the LAWLESS Forget the Filler (reviewed HERE), which is thick enough to fill in every line for an insanely smooth and volumized surface, the tender and iconic *BY TERRY Baume de Rose Gloss (reviewed HERE), which smells like roses and provides a soft iridescence and the sweet and slightly minty La Mer Lip Volumizer (reviewed HERE) of which I am on tube #3 (I like it that much).
For liners, I am running through my mauvy nude Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Lip Crayon in Natasha (reviewed HERE) like crazy as it is wildly smooth and long lasting without being the slightest bit dry, the *LAWLESS Forget the Filler Liner in Coco (reviewed HERE), which is a very dark brown but works well to strategically contour one’s lips for the illusion of a larger pout (let me know if you want a tutorial on this!) and, of course, the aforementioned Au Naturale Lip Liner in Slipper, which is a universally flattering hue for all seasons and all complexions. I am already on my third one!
To close, I wanted to highlight the classic beauty that is the Agent Nateur Unisex No. 5 Deodorant (also available at Nordstrom and use code AGENTRACHEL for 15% off on the Agent Nateur site) and the luxe *Sisley-Paris Le Phyto-Rouge Lipstick in Beige Manhattan.
Both are staples in my routine as the one expertly cares for my underarms without irritation (and 100% safe and clean ingredients) and the other is the quintessential medium nude for instant sophistication. I like to think of them as two “little black dresses” in the wardrobe of beauty.
The following images reflects the products in action in afternoon sunlight…
// STYLE NOTES //
- Nike Bliss Luxe Training Dress: I bought this dress on a whim while at the Nike store with my husband and am so glad that I did. It can be worn for a myriad of occasions from working out to walking around. And the inner support (bra and bike shorts combo) provides structure while still being inordinately comfortable. I picked up a medium and it’s a touch loose but I like it that way.
- Beige Sweatshirt: Men’s sweatshirts are the best in my opinion…oversized and ever comfortable, they’re always better than what I find in the women’s department. This neutral beige number is lightweight and goes with everything.
- Nike Air Max 270 React: I have four pairs of these in my wardrobe these days…they are cushiony and never need to be broken in. Once you try them, you’ll wonder what you ever did without them.
–Shop the Post–
Bottom Line: I truly hoped you enjoyed this post and would love to know what caught your eye…do tell.
Good things ahead including a fresh video, a wellness and fitness focused story and a host of new product procurements. As well as some special Beauty Professor collaboration launches. Cannot wait to share.
Stay strong, seek wisdom, sending love and more soon,
xx
